How do you transport natural gas from Australia to major markets in Asia?

Chevron is Australia's largest holder of natural gas resources and is well positioned to supply three of Asia's leading markets — China, Japan and South Korea. We are transporting natural gas to these markets by cooling it to 260 degrees below zero Fahrenheit
(-162 degrees Celsius) and converting it into a liquid that can be shipped in specially designed tankers. Here, the Chevron-operated tanker Northwest Swan takes on liquefied natural gas in Western Australia. It will be shipped to China, converted back to gas and delivered to customers through the country's pipeline infrastructure.
