Oronite Diesel Additives (ODA®)
Chevron Oronite is a global supplier of deposit control additives for diesel fuels with our Oronite Diesel Additive product line.
Deposit control is crucial for enhanced diesel engine performance and reduced emissions. Efficient operation of a diesel engine depends on proper operation of the fuel injectors so deposit control in this critical area is necessary to ensure optimum performance, maximize fuel economy and control engine smoke.
Chevron Oronite Capabilities
Our multifunctional diesel fuel additive packages are built around our core dispersant/detergent technology which meets the requirements for Cummins L-10 "Superior" injector cleanliness. Use of this detergent delivers reduced injector nozzle fouling, which results in improved fuel economy, increased power, and reduced emissions.

The detergent can be combined with other functional components such as lubricity improver, cold flow improver, deicer, cetane improver, corrosion inhibitor and/or demulsifier to deliver additional benefits to all diesel fuels including ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD), biodiesel fuel, and biodiesel fuel blends. These additional benefits can include:
- Prevention of fuel gelling for more reliable cold temperature operability
- Protection against fuel filter icing
- Easier ignition and quicker start-up
- Decreased engine noise
- Protection of the fuel injection system from excess wear
- Dispersion of water to extend life of fuel filters, fuel injection pumps, and fuel injectors
- Corrosion protection

Oronite Diesel Additives (ODA) for Diesel Fuel Marketers
Oronite has developed core formulations to provide improvements in diesel fuel performance and enhanced customer brand positioning. The Oronite diesel additive series is available today in several finished packages that will meet general requirements for Cummins L-10 "Superior" injector cleanliness, European XUD9 and new direct injection tests.
We can also custom design packages optimized for specific customer needs.

We can provide packages to fit our customer's aftermarket product needs. Diesel aftermarket packages are favored by consumers who want to ensure their engines operate economically and with optimal performance.
Diesel fuel additives must support the requirements for improved performance, emissions reduction, brand differentiation, and consumer preferences. This capability is available today in the ODA series from Chevron Oronite, an additive technology leader.
