Ali Moshiri is president, Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company, a newly formed organization based in Houston, Texas. He is responsible for upstream operations in Africa and Latin America.

After graduating from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's and a master's degree in petroleum engineering in 1976 and 1978, respectively, he joined Chevron as a reservoir engineer, working as a drilling engineer. In 1983, he became senior production engineer with supervisory responsibilities in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

Moshiri was the chairman of the Venezuelan Association of Hydrocarbons and is a board member of the Council of the Americas, the Institute of the Americas, the Pan-American Development Foundation and the Trust of the Americas, Organization of American States.
