Salt Lake Refinery employees and retirees assembled more than 2500 pantry packs for the Bountiful Community Food Pantry. The Pantry Pack program provides meals and snacks for food-insecure children on weekends when school meals are not available. Each pack contains two meals, two breakfasts, snacks and a drink mix. The packs are distributed to more than 80 schools in the Davis School District where there's an ever-increasing need. There are 16,000 students (more than 20%) in Davis County who qualify for free and reduced lunch. The food pantry has seen a 50% increase over the past year in families needing food assistance.

"A family of four that makes about $30,000 a year is what the average family looks like that are getting these packs," said Rachelle Jones, Bountiful Community Pantry. "It's to make sure those really low-income kids have something to eat over the weekend. The ability to feed all those people is completely contingent on amazing companies such as Chevron."
